NNEREN Talking Points

October 12, 2011

Action Items:

The 2012 NNEREN® Officers were voted as follows:  President, Peter Schwartz; Vice Pres/Elect, Chad Jacobson; Treasurer, Bill Arnott; Asst. Treas., Charlie Erff; Secretary, Mary Magnell; Asst. Sec., Sally Pratt and Past President, John Kinney.  It was voted, in the absence of our present Treasurer and Asst. Treasurer, that the Treasurer and Asst. Treasurer take those positions immediately.

It was voted to donate to the REALTOR® Relief Funds of VT and NH to assist with the devastation caused by the recent storm flooding provided the funds remain within the two states.

It was also voted to accept mandatory changes to the definition of “MLS” referenced in NNEREN®‘s Bylaws as required by NAR.

NNEREN® News:

NNEREN® BOD members and staff will be discussing the benefits of key existing and potential NNEREN® data initiatives at a Leadership Retreat planned for November 1st and 2nd in Whitefield, NH.  Four teams will review the pros and cons of each product.  If users have any input they would like to share, please contact their Director, Alternate or NNEREN® CEO.

The 2011 NNEREN® Member Satisfaction Survey was discussed.  Measurements for member satisfaction were positive overall, but have slipped slightly from last year.  Points of interest: There has been a marked increase in broker participation in the survey this year, and approximately ninety-one percent of the respondents are working full time in real estate.  Open-ended comments included, among other items: numerous Forms Committee requests, complaints about SafeMLS as being bothersome, remarks about InnoVia becoming increasing complicated with too many changes, and comments regarding NNEREN®  rules, with requests for both more aggressive enforcement and less intrusive handling.  The survey results will be posted on the member side of NNEREN.com for member review.

Improving shareholder communication was an important discussion as part of October’s meeting.  The NNEREN® BOD reviewed how NNEREN® takes action on certain topics and how input from NNEREN® Shareholder Boards should be considered.  Steps such as providing “Talking Points” to board executives and presidents, plus including a link in the monthly “Advantage”, were received positively, and shareholder communication was added as a topic for the October NNEREN® Shareholder meeting.

NNEREN® will be ramping up a marketing plan to attract additional members from all NH & VT licensees (active non-NNEREN® licensees appear to number about 3300).  This was recommended as part of the 2012 budget process and will roll-out this November.

A group of NNEREN® users will be participating with MarketLinx to test the revised listing entry & maintenance portion of InnoVia, which is now in development.

It was suggested that this may be an excellent time to inform our members on the results of increased membership due to SafeMLS adoption.   One measurement:  34% of the offices which have experienced SAFEMLS remediation have added users, while only 6% of non-remediation offices have added users.
